Last night I decided to take my camera for a walk in Downtown Boulder. I didn’t really have a destination I just wanted to see what was up on a quiet, cool, February night. The slideshow shows a few images you would recognize like the Boulder Public Library, Macky Auditorium and the bridge at Varsity Pond on the CU campus. I also found some quirky images like a lighted fence made of bottles on Dewey Avenue at 7th Street and an old car stuck in the snow up on Mapleton Hill.
Walking and exploring is one of my favorite things to do when I’m out of town, but I rarely have the time to stop and smell the roses in my own city. Boulder is a safe place to walk at night and it was fun to look at the city from a different perspective. Since it was President’s Day, I added one extra photo I took on a night walk in Washington D.C. I hope you enjoy the photos.

I was driving home from work last week and noticed a bright orange in my rear view mirror. I pulled over at a trail head right on Boulder Creek and quickly took some photos before it faded away. It was quite spectacular! You never know what you are going to see with the Rocky Mountains as a back drop but it is always beautiful. Have a great weekend!

Today was a beautiful fall day in Boulder. The leaves have not yet changed in town but are past their peak in the high country. I took a walk through campus and many students were enjoying the beautiful lawns.

Boulder Reservoir was filled with rowing sculls this morning. The morning sunlight on the mountains made a beautiful backdrop for the graceful boats skidding across the water.

I took a hike over the weekend up above Nederland. It was a beautiful day and the aspens were turning a vibrant yellow. The fall colors have not yet peaked but in places it was stunning. There is still time to go up and enjoy the beauty. Take a look at the slideshow below to get a taste of what you might see. These photos were taken off of the Peak to Peak Highway between Nederland and Ward. I hiked the Sourdough Trail which is on the road to the CU Research Station.
